Highlights of the Trek |
|
This most spectacular and adventurous
trek commences at Dumre (420m); a four
and a half-hour bus ride from Kathmandu.
You will be walking through low lands
and high hills along the Marshyangdi
River viewing enchanting natural beauty
of green forests, bamboo groves with
lovely chirping birds, picturesque
villages and monasteries of Tibetan
origin.
Your trek will be imprinted in your mind
forever because of the spellbinding
panoramic views of the mighty Himalayas,
which can be seen from Thorang-la
(5417m), the peak point of this route.
You will be in the lap of mountains such
as Ngadichuli, Lamjung, Manaslu, Pisang
Peak, Annapurna ll, lV and lll,
Gangapurna, Chulu East and West, Tilicho
Peak, Nilgiri, Himchuli, Dhaulagiri,
Tukuche Peak, Annapurna 1 and South,
Machhapuchare (Fish Tail), and many
more.

These treks will involve some high
altitude activity and the occasional
pass-crossing with walks of up to 9
hours per day and altitudes not
exceeding 6000 metres. Be aware of the
physical and mental needs of this type
of trek. You will need to be fit and the
preparations for the moderate trek apply
here too. Level of fitness is unrelated
to altitude sickness and you cannot be
sure that you will not suffer some mild
symptoms. Slow and steady is the key to
enjoyment.
