Doctor Trek

Program Code : DT01

 Highlights of the Trek

Description : Trek starts from 300m and ends at 275m from the sea level. The maximum elevation of the trail is 2200m (Chhimkeshwori). This is a virgin trekking area. Very few tourists have reached these places. There are many ascent and decent. The panoramic mountain and terrace lands view from the trail is very eye catching. We may have a close view of Mt. Dhaulagiri Range, Mt. Annapurna Range, Mt. Lamjung, Mt. Manaslu, Mt. Ganesh Himal, Mt. Langtang range and Mt. Gaurishankar in the north and east. We will also have a scenic view of Terai (plane) land in the south. We will be also walking along the river. We will have unforgettable interaction between different ethnic groups of Nepal i.e. Magar, Gurung, Tamang, Newar, Chhetri and Bramhan including some untouchable caste.

This trail is not so far from the high way but it is very remote and back ward. Most people from the villages are under poverty line. No people have got such medical facility so we have decided this trekking for medical camps. We can also meet local herbal doctors and wizards or shamans. It will be really beneficial to the local people as well as the participants for learning Nepalese life. This doctor's trek will be very interesting and worth full for all.

Kathmandu Valley

  Program Itinerary (Short)

Days 01 : Arrival in Kathmandu

Days 02 : Sightseeing of Kathmandu Valley

Days 03 : KTM-Mugling-Ghyangsin Village. Ghyangsin Village is a small Magar village located at middle of the ridge hill Approximately 15 Houses (Families living) Steep ascending from Mugling Dharapani School, but as you gain the height mountain views and landscapes are superb.Day 03 Ghyansin Village-Hillekharka VIA Chhimkeswori Danda The track from Ghyangsin is still steep climb to Chhimkeswori Danda but views are superb can spot the whole range of great Himalaya North west to Annapurna. Straight North to Manaslu and far northeast to Langtang +Gaurisanker and relatively beautiful landscapes, terraces and habitant.

Days 04-05-06 : at Hillekharka: 3rd day reminds to be preparations for next day Medical campaign (4th day) and 5th day will be interaction with local Peoples. Why we chosen the Hillekharka for Medical Campaign? The region Hillekharka village is one of the largest villages in the region and it is a Gurung village. (Approximately populated 1000 peoples.) Center for every one from the region there is a Village Development Community Center (for Deurali VDC) a Primary School and a health-post given by Government, but unfortunately there is no Doctors and medicines accept Paracetamols. Hard to find any single person who bearing the (SLC) School Leaving Certificate till now a day. Only very handful westerners reach the area, anyway you will acknowledge that once when while you are there. It is approximately 3½hrs way from Prithivi (Kathmandu-Pokhara) highway but even though it is still unexpectedly remote.

Days 07 : Hillekharka-Bandipur: Steep up half an hour to Joginibhanjyang altitude of 1530m. Then continue to Jalbhanjyang, Jhargaon and Bahunbhanjyang then Bandipur. Views are excellent almost 30-35°c of Air distance To Gorkha and Ganesh Himal. Bandipur is almost a medieval Town and well-known trade center for the central part of Nepal from Manang Bhot to Thouri, India. Was heavily populated by newars community early days but since District HQ shifted to Damauli the most of Newars are moved to other else for their better trade, because they were fully depending with trading. All the Newars are Hindu followers hence you will see lot of Hindu temples such as Binda Basini, Khadka Mai and many others. It is well organized Town, most of buildings are 5 and 3 stories. There are Hospital, Post office, Bank, Schools and College.

Days 08 : Bandipur - Belbhanjyang: Today you don’t gain that much altitude, but it is quite interesting walking. It's almost level or if we say it’s a Nepali flat. After the first ridge you will arrive a small Gurung Village call Much than large Magar village of Ramkot, kunung and then to Belbhanjyang.

Days 09 : Belbhanjyang-Sarangghat: (where we are aiming to be our second campaign) The trail remains very easy but interesting, because of walking through the villages, along the Seti River side. Is good site for Bird life can be spot such as Kingfisher Forkstails etc. and two species of monkeys such as common languor and rhesus macaque?

Days 10-11-12 : (For Second Medial Campaign): The following days are will be the same as our first Campaign, Preparation, medical campaign and interactions with the locals. The second Campaign we have chosen Sarangghat is Because of Center for among the many villages and the another plus point is there are a Village (one of the poorest peoples among the Nepalese). Known as Bote those who make survive their life by fishing in the river and sell to other peoples. Our focus is to effect directly to them.

Days 13 : Sarangghat- Kartap School: Today the trail makes you a last ascending through the Sarbang, Baspani and Kaphal Danda villages. Mostly habitant by GURUNGS and depended with Farming and pet keeping. As you arrive Baspani villages the tremendous view of Manaslu and Baudha Himal is opens up.

Days 14 : Kartap-Devghat: From Kartap Camping down ward to south you can see the Narayan ghat and Devghat where you are ending your entire trip. Gentle descending passing through the Phosrepani Village and entering to the dense Sal (Rubusta) bard wood forest then to Saune pani Newly settled Village it only five houses must be the GURUNGS arrived from above the hillsides of Kartap or Phosrepani.
