Rhododendron (Salpa Pass) Trek

Program Code : MOC04

 Highlights of the Trek

This trek starts from a high vantage point at the township of Hille. For a few kilometers the trail follows a new road being built by the Nepali Army before turning back on to the original trail and the commencement of a long and steep descent to the floor of the valley and the Arun River. There are some beautiful views of the Mt. Makalu ranges as you descend. The trail is a very busy transportation route for the villages and major centers such as Khadbari, so you will see a continuous stream of porters carrying every conceivable item a town could need.
