 Highlights of the Trek


The far eastern Himalaya contains vast tracts of wilderness not often encountered less inhabited and geographically situated such that it receives more rainfall from the Indian monsoon allowing for luxuriant growth of mixed forest and delicate flowers. This trek takes us up beneath the sough side of the Kanchenjunga Massif to view dramatic peaks that line the trek to the vase camp on the northern side of the mountain does within two weeks. Open only to organized and registered groups. Few people will have experienced such a beautiful part of the Himalaya.

Grade : Challenging  
These treks will involve some high altitude activity and the occasional pass-crossing with walks of up to 9 hours per day and altitudes not exceeding 6000 meters. Be aware of the physical and mental needs of this type of trek. You will need to be fit and the preparations for the moderate trek apply here too. Level of fitness is unrelated to altitude sickness and you cannot be sure that you will not suffer some mild symptoms. Slow and steady is the key to enjoyment.

  Program Itinerary (Short)

Days 01 : Trip commences in Kathmandu, introductions and formalities (1336m)

Days 02 : Sightseeing around Kathmandu Valley

Days 03 : Biratnagar by air overnight at hotel (375m)

Days 04 : Biratnagar to Suketar (2300m) by air meet trekking crew then trek Suketar to Phurumba (1950m)

Days 05 : Chirwa camp at riverside (1190m)

Days 06 : Hellok (1180m)

Days 07 : Jungle Camp (2290m)

Days 08 : Kuna camp (2990m)

Days 09 : Anda Phedi (3870m)

Days 10 : Ramche (4620m)

Days 11 : Rest day at Ramche with optional walk to South Base Camp (4920m)

Days 12 : Dorongding (2990m)

Days 13 : Amjikhola (2340m)

Days 14 : Yamphudin - lunch time arrival afternoon free (1690m)

Days 15 : Phumphedanda (1850m)

Days 16 : Karebhanjyang (2050m)

Days 17 : Lalikharka (2220m)

Days 18 : Lalikharka to Suketar , Optional afternoon walk to Taplejung H.Q.

Days 19 : Biratnagar by air then fly to Kathmandu.

Days 20 : Day in Kathmandu - optional sightseeing/shopping

Days 21 : Trip concludes in Kathmandu

  Cost Included :-

Hotel accommodation in Kathmandu (as per itinerary, 3 star rating standard, B&B, twin share basis), airport transfers, full compliment of trekking crew, all meals while on trek (except alternative by choice), all necessary camping gear (including sleeping bag, down jacket), overland transportation, National Park Fees, trekking crew insurance, emergency first aid kit.
