Highlights of the Trek |
|
Description :
The very sacred Gosainkund Lake is
situated in the Langtang National Park
region of the Annapurnas. There are some
100 lakes in the area and they are the
destination of thousands of Hindu
Pilgrims during the month of August. The
lake is also sacred to the Buddhist
people.
The trek commences with a steep ascent
but levels out for a relaxing trek
through old growth forest. If the day is
clear, you will have some spectacular
views of the valley below and of the
magnificent waterfalls cascading down
the mountain ranges across the valley.
There is ample opportunity to see the
vast array of flora and if you are quiet
and observant, you may get to see some
of the varied wildlife inhabiting the
forest.
The trail will take you through some of
the best native forest in Nepal. Through
the canopy, you will get glimpses of
Langtang Lirung Peak (7246m).
Grade :
Moderate /Challenging
You will be walking five to eight hours
per day at altitudes not exceeding 4,500
meters with steep ascents and descents.
