 Highlights of the Trek

This is trekking in the Himalaya's Heart. This region lies in the north of the Kingdom and south of the Tibetan frontier, sandwiched between the principal mountain range of the Himalayas (north) and series of peaks such as Langtang Lirung, the Gang Chengpo at the south. This trek gives us a chance to know towns, climb mountains and visit glaciers besides giving us the view of the sacred lake, Gosainkund (4,300 m).

Langtang Trek

  Brief Itinerary

Days 01 : It is a day of arrival of your dreamland. We will come to pick up you at the airport. We will directly transfer you at a hotel then free for yourself. Possibly we will meet you in dinner of the first night.

Days 02 (03.12): If you are interested to do some sightseeing on this day, we will take just half day sightseeing at any place you choose. The next hour of the day is for packing and shorting out the things for the 11days trek. If you want to have some of you favorite food or snack you can buy in Kathmandu or bring all the way from Sweden.

Days 03 (04.12) : Kathmandu – Syabru Besi: It will be funny, exciting and terrible bus journey in your lifetime. The road goes about 187 km. north round from Kathmandu valley to the Syabrubensi. There is not tourist bus service so we have to go in a local public transportation. If you want to have private or Luxury vehicle it cost extra.
The bus leaves around seven in the morning from the central bus station. The road goes to north-west from the city then climbs to Kakani (view point) from there we can see some white capped mountain (Ganesh Himal, South face of Gosainkund and chain of hills. After that gradual down to Trisuli river and flat to Trisuli Bazaar about 80 km. From Trisuli (headquarter of Nuwakot district) start the rough road and climbing like a snake crawling and the bus move like a snail. They will stop for lunch on the way half to the destination. So all together it will take about 8/9 hours to reach at the last stop.
Syabrubensi is a small modern town situated at the edge of Bhote Kosi River. So we will find a comfortable night stop.

Days 04 (05.12) : Syabru besi – Lama Hotel: There would curiosity to go in a New World but it is not easy. This is the staring day for your legs to pull you in the mountain but it all works by the mind. Please step very gentle but continuous. You will hit the world without any difficulty.
Your guide will let you know the timetable of your daily routine. After a breakfast we will start to walk along the river after 10 and 15 min. there are two suspension bridges on Bhote Kosi and langtang Khola separately. After the second bridge the trail enter in the jungle. It is a mixed rain forest where we can find different wild life. So we should be very long sighted and look around all the time. We can find some small teashop along the way, if you want to eat or drink we can stop for a while. After 6 hours (in average) walk we will be is at Lama hotel the Last destination for the day. The day is passed but still there would be many things to do so be fresh and active all the time.

Days 05 (06.12): Lama Hotel – Langtang village: find out some new things by yourself!

Days 06 (07.12): Langtang village – Kyanjing Gompa: find out some new things by yourself!

Days 07 (08.12): Kyanjing Gompa - Lama Hotel: We came back the same way but try to find loveliest things and enjoy the walk.

Days 08 (09.12): Lama Hotel – Syabru village: After the half day down hill walk we change the trail and turn to left and ascent to the Syabru Village: It is a typical Sherpa Village but some new modern building came in. It is situated on a hill and looks beautiful. After while you reach there you can explore the village by your own.

Days 09 (10.12): Syabru village - Sing Gompa: It is a day like you are going to summit the Mt. Everest but not really it is. The path goes through the rice field and meadow about two hours then enters into the mixed forest. It is wonderful jungle of Pine, Devdar, Rhododendron… You can sing song with birds. After 4 hours walk we reach in Deurali where have rest and lunch. After then the path goes flat, we can see the Trisuli valley and some mountains in the clear day. Just at the end of the jungle you can see a small settlement but it has beautiful hotel and unbelievable yak cheese. Finally you find the Sing Gompa (the paradise).

Days 10 (11.12): Sing Gompa – Gosaikunda: Don't say I am exhausted we are not leaving you there, it is just half way to the Gosainkund. After 1 hour we reach on ridge of the hill is like heaven. The path is gentle climb and lovely view of mountain on the back. We will cross the jungle, some hills but still there is climb. Don't be pent-up just 4 hours more to the summit. From the Cholang Pati the jungle let us go easily looking around and getting the high. There are some lodges in the middle of the meadow and the place call Laurbinayak. We will eat something and continue the journey to reach at the Holy Land Gosainkund. It takes about 6 hours on my speed.

Days 11 (12.12): Gosaikunda –Sing Gompa: We are on the way down from the summit so we should be careful the ice would be very slippery. It is the same way down to the same station.

Days 12 (13.12): Sing Gompa - Dhunche: The last day of our expedition, we are nearly on the bottom of the hill but still the path is going down, down…. to the Trisuli River but it is so lovely to walk into the jungle listening birds and insects song with the music of rivers. Isn't it fun.

Days 13 (14.12): Dhunche - Drive to Kathmandu: It looks we are somewhere near a big modern town because of the equipment (bus, telephone, electricity TV…). Yes, definitely next day we drive to Kathmandu huhuuuuuuuuuuu.
