Highlights of the Trek |
|
Utterly marvelous, still very untouched
and an irregular trekking area of Makalu
region is very close to the Everest
region. Because of Arun River, it is
known as Arun Valley too. The Arun
Valley is an unimaginable area and it is
famous for both the culture and nature.
This area is a naturalist's paradise and
it is teeming with many precious plants,
animals and Mt. Makalu (8475m.) birds
and is a significant part of the
Himalayan environment and ecosystem.
People living in this remote place
depend on cattle herds, farming and
small - time trade. The number of
population is 32000. Various castes and
ethnic groups from this population, they
are: Sherpa in the higher elevation,
Gurung, Tamang, Magar, Newar, Brahmins,
Chhetris and the others in the rest, The
tour to those places have many
attractions because of the cultural
reasons too.
