Highlights of the Trek |
|
Mustang (the Walled Forbidden Kingdom),
lies in the rain shadow of the Himalaya
and is perhaps one of the last enclave
of undefiled Tibetan culture. Forbidden
and isolated from the rest of the world,
it was able to evolve its own
distinctive culture and tradition which
is so rich and unique. Lo-Manthang, the
capital, is a walled city ruled by a
religious king. untouched by modern
civilization, life in Mustang goes on as
it has for centuries at a unhurried
pace. A trek into the Kingdom of Mustang
is an unforgettable experience. This is
a restricted area trek and only fully
equipped groups organised through an
agency are permitted to do the trek. The
group must be accompanied by a
Government Liaison Officer.
