Barabensi - DolkhaTrek

Program Code : IT01

 Highlights of the Trek

This trek is one of the most spectacular short treks we have on offer. This remote area in north eastern Nepal is well-off the beaten track - it's unlikely that you will run into other trekkers and so remains a beautiful environment of pristine forest, small traditional villages clinging tenaciously to the sides of terraced mountain slopes, and striking mountain vistas. In terms of diversity and positive cultural experiences, no area of the Himalaya is better than this. The route mainly follows the ridge lines so there are always panoramic views of the Rolwaling Himal - both while walking and from the camp-sites. Among many other spectacular mountains, Gaurisankar (7134m) and Melungste (7181m) are outstanding. In addition, Choba Bhamare (6000m) and the unique rock spires and mountains of the Jugal Himal and Langtang Himal can be seen.

Grade : Introductory
You will be walking or involved in activity for up to six hours per day at altitudes not exceeding 2500 meters and with some steep ascents and descents. For two or three months prior to your trek you should take every opportunity to do some bushwalking, walking up and down stairs (instead of using the lift), cycling, swimming and just plain walking.
